Beyersdorf trained in acting and directing in the theatres of Berlin after winning the Marten Bequest Prize for Acting for 2008/2009, working under Bulgarian master director Dimiter Gotscheff on the play – The Powder Keg at Der Haus der Berliner Festspiele as well as traveling and studying performance in Poland, Denmark and the USA.

Anya played the title character Angie in John Winter’s (producer Rabbit Proof Fence) directorial debut feature film which premiered at the 58th Sydney International Film Festival. Black and White and Sex is Anya’s third feature film, after Rats and Cats (Melbourne Film Festival 2006, South By Southwest Film Festival USA 2009) and Triple Happiness (due for release 2012) as well performing as the Tragic Usherette in the self devised Magic Lantern Picture Show at the Famous Spiegeltent (Edinburgh Festival 2010).
