In a municipal Apopa, dated November 14 of 1.860, this population appears to 2.194 people, accommodated in 247 houses of straw and 79 tiles in the city hall, a more vague in the rural area. Jurisdiction included three farms: The Angel Arrasola San José, San Nicolás. The latter purchased by the Municipal Corporation, to cooperate in their acquisition, the General President of the Republic Don Gerardo Barrios. By Act of January 28 was 1.865 for the Northern District or District and as head Apopa with jurisdiction over populations of Saint Martin, and Nejapa Tonacatepeque. During the administration of Field Marshal Don Santiago Gonzales and Decree dated March 7 of 1.874 was awarded the title of the people of Villa Apopa. The district increased the Apopa was a 1.878 in February, by the incorporation of the municipality of El Paisnal, segregated from Suchitoto. By Act dated March 18 of 1.892, Apopa stopped being head of the former District and became part of the new District Tonacatepeque. During the administration of Jorge Meléndez and Legislative Decree 1.921 of June 7, was conferred the title of the City of Villa Apopa, in reward for the progress it had reached at that time because of the patriotic effort of its inhabitants .

History Apopa
According to the mayor corregidor Don Antonio Ulloa Gutierrez, Apopa was one big party town of San Salvador, the neighborhood consisted of 35 individuals Spaniards, 625 Indians and 1.112 ladinos, was grown fruits, sugarcane, maize and rice, cattle are raised in rural areas. The people of Apopa, the Department of San Salvador from June 12 to 1.824, until March 9 to 1.836. On this last date entered in the Federal District of the Republic, Central America whose unit belonged to June 30 of 1.839.
