Backward compatibility

Backwards compatibility is not supported by the Apple Thunderbolt Display. Consequently, old Macs with DisplayPort (i.e. without a Thunderbolt port) cannot connect to the "Apple Thunderbolt Display".

On the other hand, newer Macs with a Thunderbolt port can connect with the old Apple Cinema Display
