History

Aquila Capital was founded by Roman Rosslenbroich and Dr. Dieter Rentsch in 2001. Launched as an investment house for alternative investments, the company’s product range spans absolute returns funds, multi-manager, enhanced equity and bond offerings, and real asset strategies.

Scope

Aquila Capital offers a range of financial asset and real asset investments for private and institutional investors globally.
The company’s financial asset range focuses on investments in quantitative models, liquid strategies and inefficient markets. In 2004, the company launched the AC Risk Parity Fund, the first fund to utilize a risk parity investment approach in the market. Originally structured as an offshore fund, the AC Risk Parity Fund was converted to a UCITS fund in 2008.
The company’s real asset fund range focuses on investments in real assets that are driven by shortages. In 2006, Aquila Capital launched the Aquila® KlimaschutzINVEST I, the first climate change fund brought to market. Since then, Aquila has developed and range of additional real asset funds, including timber, agriculture and renewable energy investments.
