His first full fledged release as a music director is the 2006 released Autograph Please starring Sanjana
and Dilip Raj. Since then, he has scored music for over 15 Kannada films with moderate successes to his credit.
However, his major break through happened with the Kannada film Kempe Gowda
in 2011 after he changed his name from Arjun to Arjun Janya. Upon astrologer's suggestion and actor Sudeep
's recommendation, he added Janya as his surname . It is also quoted in some articles that a small meeting between Arjun and Oscar winning composer A. R. Rahman
has changed his fortunes in the music industry .
