Ankapur- A Model village in India, is located in Armoor Mandal. Ankapur(Ankapoor) Village has been recognized as a Model Village by many agencies including International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Manila, Philippines, for outstanding achievements in the field of agriculture development. Besides cultivating commercial crops and vegetables on a large scale, the local farming communities have been raising various crops for seeds in preference to cereals and traditional crops of food grains. The Peasant Association of the village coordinates, organizes and controls various agricultural development programmes. The village also boasts of modern amenities for the inhabitants and is also taking up its marketing activities itself.

Eminent People of Armoor
- Raja Gaddam Venkata Bhooma Reddy-Erstwhile King of Armoor. Raja Gaddam Venkata Bhooma Reddy and Rani Yamuna Bhai were the landlords of Armoor. In 1940 they shifted their residence to a eight acre Palace in Ankapoor village.
- Argul Gaddam Rajaram-former finance minister. Rajaram was a great leader and visionary and was elected to Assembly five times. He held key portfolios in P.V. Narasimha Rao, J. Vengal Rao, T. Anjaiah and M. Chenna Reddy Cabinets.
- Shri Govardhana Narasimha Chary: A teacher and a Spiritual Guru. He was well known for his discipline, punctuality, excellent teaching, firmness and control over the subject and students. He was also regarded as spiritual guru, performed many poojas, rituals and dharmika pravachan.
