An inside forward he started his career at Shelbourne F.C.
in 1946.
Having joined Middlesbrough F.C.

He went on to play briefly at Lincoln City F.C.
and Mansfield Town at the end of his career.

shortly after they had been admitted to the League of Ireland
.
He spent a few years as manager of Drogheda United
and managed Shamrock Rovers from August to October 1969.
