. In his first season in Ventspils Lazdiņš played for the reserve team and didn't take part in the first-team action. In 2007 Lazdiņš had 3 appearances and couldn't find the net. In the next 2 years his number of appearances grew. but still wasn't the greatest - 12 and 18 respectively. Even though he didn't play much, he managed to become the champion of Latvia twice - in 2007 and 2008. Lazdiņš also participated in the UEFA Europa League group stages in 2009. In 2009 the team's managers changed and Lazdiņš was no more needed for the team. His contract was terminated by a mutual agreement.

Early Career
Artis Lazdiņš started playing football in his early childhood being taken to trainings to his local team FK Limbaži by his father. In 2000 his family decided to move to the USA. Artis then continued playing football in an American-Ukrainian football (soccer) academy Chornomorets-USA in NYC. In 2004, after graduating from high-school, he returned to Latvia and played for FK Auda in Riga until the end of 2005.FK Ventspils
