The bridge served the millyard of the Ashland Cotton Company, in the Jewett City section of Griswold. It crosses a millrace on a skew angle. The bridge is 65 feet long and consists of for panels.

In 1999, the bridge was closed to traffic and was included in a town park. Expectations then were that the bridge would be re-opened for pedestrian use within the park.
