series. The main gameplay involves the player starting out with one or two of the most basic cars and earning money by winning races and performing illegal acts. Money can then be spent on upgrades or new cars. The game's quality may vary depending on the system it's being played on. The Lamborghini and Audi cars are removed in Asphalt 4 and replaced with Ferrari and Bugatti cars. But the Lamborghini and Audi cars are returned in Asphalt 5
along with Ferrari And Bugatti cars.

The ipod and iOS versions also features different girls that the player can 'phone' to help out in a race (e.g. Sandra helps you gain nitro faster). They are not in the DSi version.
For the iPod version, the steering is controlled by either 'steering' left and right with the click wheel or by touching the left and right sides of the wheel. The iPhone version is controlled by tilting the iPhone left and right, while the DSi version has the options of using the touch screen or D-pad. The preferred controlled method can be determined in the options menu.
