Assumption High School is a Roman Catholic high school in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Davenport

In 1958, AHS opened its doors as a co-institutional facility, with the merger of St. Ambrose Academy and Immaculate Conception Academy. AHS became coeducational in 1969.
The majority of Assumption students come from Catholic feeder schools, such as St. Paul's, John F. Kennedy, Lourdes, & All Saints.

However, Assumption competes in the largest class (Class 4A for football and boys' golf. The school is a member of the 10-team Mississippi Athletic Conference

Football has been a sport where the Knights have experienced much long-term success, winning many conference titles since 1990. The Bettendorf-Davenport Assumption rivalry is one of the best-known in the conference, and football games pitting the two schools are often highly anticipated; the Bulldogs lead the series 45-18-2, although many of the Bulldogs-Knights contests are close and come down to a few plays.
More recently, Assumption has won numerous state titles in wrestling, baseball and girls basketball. The 2008 baseball team won the school's fifth state title in the sport, with standout Willie Argo going on to a successful career at the University of Illinois
