The unincorporated community of Assyria Center is located on M-66 at the corner of Tasker Rd.
, the township has a total area of 36.4 square miles (94.3 km²), of which, 36 square miles (93.2 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square mile (0.776996433 km²) of it (0.85%) is water. Calculations by Barry County Land Information Service indicate that the township is 36.29 square miles (94 km²). The largest lakes are Loon Lake of 36 acres (145,687 m²), Taylor Lake of 32 acres (129,499.5 m²), Metcalf Lake of 30 acres (121,405.8 m²), High Hill Lake of 29 acres (117,358.9 m²), West Lake of 28 acres (113,312.1 m²), Cassidy Lake & Grass Lake of 25 acres (101,171.5 m²). In 2009 there were 75.06 miles (121 km) of County/State roads and 3.58 miles (6 km) of private roads.

living together, 4.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.9% were non-families. 16.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.02.
In the township the population was spread out with 24.2% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 29.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 105.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.7 males.
