Astley Village has become well known due to the village's park hosting the prestigious "Lancashire Fair" for a number of years. The village, is roughly a mile away from the nearest Tesco, Chorley town town centre and the M61. It is serviced by a regular bus route, The Chorley circular, every 10 minutes. The village street, Long Croft Meadow, backs onto Chorley hospital.
