Asynchronous Balanced Mode (ABM) is a communication
mode of HDLC and derivative protocol

For systems that work in the ABM (Asynchronous Balanced Mode), there is no master/slave relationship. Each station may initialize, supervise, recover from errors, and send frames at any time.
