Augusta Arsenal was a 19th century fortification in Augusta, Georgia
. It was initially built on the Georgia bank of Savannah River
in 1819 but moved for health concerns to Summerville, Georgia
in 1828. It remained in operation until 1955, at which point it was converted to house the junior college of August College.
