The Augustalia was a festival at Rome
, in commemoration of the day on which Augustus
returned to Rome, after he had established peace over the different parts of the empire. It was first established in the year of Rome 735, after he had ended all his wars, and settled the affairs with Sicily, Greece, Asia, Syria, and the Parthians. The day of the feast was called Augustalis.
Augustalia was also a name given to the games celebrated in honor of Augustus, on the 4th of the Ides of October.
