(AACTA), an organisation which promotes the Australian film industry. Since the 1958 Australian Film Awards the award is handed out to the film producer every year except for 1961. For a film be eligible for nomination the Australian Film Institute must be satisfied that it is an Australian production and contains siginficant Australian content. Until the 1974-75 Australian Film Awards
