-managed temporary business formed by the 2005 transfer of 17 automotive components factories and 6 research, testing, and other facilities from Visteon Corporation to Ford. The goal of ACH was to ensure Ford a continued flow of critical parts used in their business while at the same time preparing ACH plants for sale or other disposition.

History

The ACH Glass business and three plants (Nashville, Tulsa and Vidriocar) were sold in April 2008 to Zeledyne LLC. The driveshaft business from the Monroe Plant was sold to Neapco Drivelines, LLC in January 2008, and its equipment and employees were moved to another location in southeast Michigan. Two plants – El Jarudo (fuel rails) and Converca (power transfer units) -- were sold in 2007. Four Facilities - Nashville (glass), Tulsa (glass), Autovidrio(glass), and Carlite (glass distribution) -- were sold in 2008. Three facilities - Utica (idled), Monroe (idled), Ypsilanti (idled) -- were sold in 2009 and 2010.

ACH currently operates the following plants:
  • Indianapolis Plant--Indianapolis, Indiana (steering components): Ford has extended the life of this plant to the end of 2011.

  • Milan Plant--Milan, Michigan: The Milan plant produces gas tanks, and in the past has produced bumper fascias.

Plants previously operated by ACH include:
  • Autovidrio Plant--Mexico (glass): ACH has completed the sale of this facility to Zeledyne Glass Products, a company specifically formed to take over all of the former glass operations of ACH and run them as an independent company.

  • Chesterfield Plant--Chesterfield Township. Michigan (seating foam): closed in June 2006.

  • EL Jarudo Plant--Mexico (powertrain): sold to Cooper-Standard Automotive on April 2, 2007.

  • Kansas City Plant--Kansas City, Missouri (IP/lamp final assembly & sequencing): closed in December 2006.

  • Monroe Plant--Monroe, Michigan (chassis): idled in 2008, then sold to Ford Motor Company in 2009.

  • Nashville Glass Plant--Nashville, Tennessee (glass): on April 14, 2008 it was announced that sale to Zeledyne Glass Products had been completed.

  • Rawsonville Plant--Ypsilanti, Michigan (powertrain): transferred back to Ford and now operated as a Ford facility.

  • Sterling Plant--Sterling Heights, Michigan (chassis): transferred back to Ford and now operated as a Ford facility.

  • Tulsa Glass Plant--Tulsa, Oklahoma (glass): sold to Zeledyne Glass Products.

  • Utica Plant--Shelby Twp. Michigan (interiors, exteriors): closed in 2009, subsequently sold to a private investor in 2010.

  • Ypsilanti Plant--Ypsilanti Michigan (chassis): closed in 2009, with the property sold in 2010.

  • Carlite Glass Distribution Center--Nashville, Tennessee (glass): sold to Zeledyne Glass Products.
