The Principal of Ave Maria is Ms Olwen Horton. There is one Deputy Principal and two Heads of School. A team of Year level coordinators look after the needs of the students.
Upgrades to the school property include the glass roofed Piazza with winter garden, canteen and classrooms, refurbishment of the science and technology departments and an upgrade to the school library, now known as the Education Resource Centre (ERC).
The four Houses are Goolagong, Melba, Francis, and Clare. Students attend compulsory camp in year 7 and 9. Each year there is a swimming carnival and an athletics carnival, which are compulsory to attend. The school participates in sporting competitions with other schools from the area.
A broad core curriculum is offered at Year 7 to 9. Year 10 students construct a program from a combination of core subjects, electives and a Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) subject, a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificate, or a Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). Ave Maria College offers extracurricular programs, in sporting and music, and they offer a program to help with those struggling in certain subjects.
