Years later, she left the UK to seek new job opportunities. That is when she arrived in Mexico, where she began her career as an actress and participated in several telenovelas. She has also appeared in films and on stage. In 2005, Azela returned to the small-screen in the telenovela Contra viento y marea
in the role of Apolonia.
