Brendon James Botha, better known as BJ Botha (born 4 January 1980 in Durban

) is a South African rugby union
player. He is a prop for the Irish Province, Munster
. He signed for Ulster on Thursday 14 August 2008 on a three year deal, and left the province in May 2011. Previously he played in the Currie Cup

He was rewarded with well-deserved Springbok selection, gaining three Tri-Nations caps, and winning both games he started. He is highly-rated by his peers as a technically correct and powerful scrummager, playing in all 13 Super 14 matches in 2006 and was one cap shy of a half century in the domestic Currie Cup.
Botha has played 25 times for the Springboks
and has three tries to his name. He joined up with the Ulster Rugby
squad ahead of their 2008–09 season. In May 2009, Botha was named in the Barbarians squad to play England and Australia. Botha signed for European giants, Munster for the 2011-12 season.
He made his Munster
debut against Scarlets on 17th September 2011. His first Heineken Cup
game for Munster was against Northampton Saints
