developed in the Soviet Union after World War II

The finless spin-stabilized steel-case rockets can be fired independently of a launcher and have been widely used in guerrilla and low-intensity warfare; the BM-12 itself was a flexible system offering cheap, lightweight and portable saturation artillery capability.
The BM-12 has been found in Afghanistan by the American forces. The BM-12 has a range of around nine kilometers. This weapon shown on the Military Channel’s program, Task Force Devil The New War On Terror as a weapon used regularly against the American forces.
