BYU Radio is a talk
radio station run by Brigham Young University
in Provo, Utah
.
Operating at Sirius XM channel 143 and locally on 89.1 MHz HD-2, it is known on-air as BYU Radio. It serves both those who are Mormon
and not of the Mormon faith with values-based programming.
Prior to 2002, it had been known as 'Bonneville International LDS Radio Network', but Bonneville International
gave the station to BYU. The university continued adding programming to the station.
In addition, BYU Radio has a deal with Dish Network
to broadcast its programming on Channel 980, and is available to subscribers to the 'Top 120' or higher programming tier.

., and upwards of seven hours of originally produced content each weekday.
During regular season, BYU Radio
also broadcasts live coverage of BYU football and basketball games through the BYU Cougars Sports Network
. BYU Radio airs those games live, mixed with its own programming which includes station and university-related announcements. The station also airs some BYU baseball, softball, and volleyball games, and airs all women's basketball games live.
On July 1, 2011, the station began broadcasting on both the Sirius and XM networks of Sirius XM satellite radio, on channel 143.
The station continues to stream online at http://www.byuradio.org/ along with two additional Internet streams. One features Spanish and Portuguese-language programming, known as BYU Radio International, which started in 2008. The second, BYU Radio Instrumental, started in 2003. The Spanish/Portuguese and Instrumental Radio streams are being shut down on October 17, 2011 due to listeners streaming the music as background music causing high bandwidth costs for BYU. Those two services are not broadcast on Dish or SiriusXM, and are only available online.

BYU Radio began as a web stream on August 1, 2002 with a format of music by LDS artists.
