Swine-Flu and Resulting Press Coverage
In September 2009 the school received media coverage when it was found, a total of 21 individuals were found to have been infected with Swine-Flu in the residential school premises. The school issued leave to the infected students though, subsequently, the parents of the children, alleged, that the school management were complicit whereby, delaying testing for swine-flu infection. The distraught parents ultimately organized a "Parents Association, B K Birla Center For Education", they expressed dissatisfaction at the school management, a member said: The association's demanded the management should first remove principal S K Bharadwaj, and then negotiate with them. S K Bharadwaj defended the school position, where he said:As of the following academic year, Shri S.K.Bhardwaj was succeed by Dr. Subhash Kumar.
