Baan Virtual Machine - bshell

The bshell is the core component of the Baan application server. It is a process virtual machine designed to run the Baan 4GL language. The bshell has been ported to different server platforms in order to make Baan program scripts platform-independent. For example, a Baan binary object developed on Windows can be used on Linux without recompiling the application code. The bshell is similar to today's Java VM or .Net CLR.
