Baar is a village
in the canton
of Zug in Switzerland
.
The municipality is located in the northern portion of the flood plain of the Lorze
river. It was originally a linear village
along the road between Lake Zug and Lake Zurich
. Since the 1960s it has grown rapidly. It consists of the village of Baar and the former hamlets
of Allenwinden, Blickensdorf and Inwil, as well as the farm houses of Deinikon.
In the 2007 federal election
, the most popular party was the SVP
which received 31.2% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the CVP
(22.9%), the FDP
(18.2%) and the Green Party
(17.7%).
