Bagatipara has 4 Unions/Wards, 97 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 142 villages. Bagatipara itself is a municipality now. Office of the municipality is situated in the village Parabaria near Upazila porishod. Present, the first elected, Mayor is Mosharrof Hossain who is the inhabitant of the village Parabaria.Educational Institutions
There are so many schools, colleges, and madrashas in Bagatipara upazila. Among the colleges, Bagatipara Degree College was established in 1984 as the first college of this upazila. It has wonderful academic environment and excellent achievements in different public examinations. Many students have been able to enlist themselves on the merit list of Education Board. Md. Abdul Hamid of Parabaria (working as assistant professor of Shajalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet; now doing research on European Tourism in Denmark) achieved the most outstanding result. He stood first in the combined merit list of Rajshahi Education Board (commerce group) in the year 1996 as a student of this college. He scored the second highest number among all commerce students of Bangladesh in that year. Md. Wahed Ali was the founder principal of this college. Besides, Qadirabad Cantonment College, Bagatipara Women College, Tomaltola Agricultural and Technical College are also doing well.Among schools, Qadirabad Cantonment Public School (Former Ershad Public School) is the best.
