, Bagatipara has a population of 107944. Males constitute 51.49% of the population, and females 48.51%. The Upazila's adult population is 54158. Bagatipara has an average literacy rate of 31.2% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.

Administrative

Bagatipara has 4 Unions/Wards, 97 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 142 villages. Bagatipara itself is a municipality now. Office of the municipality is situated in the village Parabaria near Upazila porishod. Present, the first elected, Mayor is Mosharrof Hossain who is the inhabitant of the village Parabaria.

Educational Institutions

There are so many schools, colleges, and madrashas in Bagatipara upazila. Among the colleges, Bagatipara Degree College was established in 1984 as the first college of this upazila. It has wonderful academic environment and excellent achievements in different public examinations. Many students have been able to enlist themselves on the merit list of Education Board. Md. Abdul Hamid of Parabaria (working as assistant professor of Shajalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet; now doing research on European Tourism in Denmark) achieved the most outstanding result. He stood first in the combined merit list of Rajshahi Education Board (commerce group) in the year 1996 as a student of this college. He scored the second highest number among all commerce students of Bangladesh in that year. Md. Wahed Ali was the founder principal of this college. Besides, Qadirabad Cantonment College, Bagatipara Women College, Tomaltola Agricultural and Technical College are also doing well.

Among schools, Qadirabad Cantonment Public School (Former Ershad Public School) is the best. Each year it achieves outstanding results in education board. Bagatipara Pilot High School, Bagatipara Girls' High School, Jigori High School, Faguardiar High School, Jamnagar High School, Ekdala High School etc. are also doing fine. For primary education, Parabaria Model School, Mahmudul Hasan Sapar School, Galimpur Primay School, Jogipara Primary School, Jamnagar Primary school etc. keeping much contribution for educational development. Among madrashas Parabaria Alim Madrasha, Kazipara madrasha, Islampur madrasha etc are playing leading role to expand islamic knowledge in the region.

As a small upazila of Bangladesh it is tough to contribute in national or international level. Besides, for limited working scope, the educated and potential persons can not stay in the area. P. of Natore-1 constituency) of Parabaria, Mayor Mosharrof Hossain (present Mayor of Bagatipara Municipality), Abdul Kader Molla (ex-chairman of Bagatipara union, man of Parabaria), Assistant Professor Md. Abdul Hamid (teacher of Shahjalal University, Sylhet and researcher in European Union-Denmark, Slovenia and Spain), Golam Mostofa Noyon (present principal of Bagatipara Degree College), Nowsher Ali Badsha (ex-M. P. of Natore-1 costituency) are highly mentionable.
