Club history

The Balaklava Football Club was formed in 1903 and played challenge matches against nearby teams including Port Wakefield, Halbury and Werocata. Balaklava became a founding member of the Balaklava and Wakefield Football Association in 1909, which became the Wooroora Football Association in 1910. In 1926 Balaklava joined the Wakefield Football Association and divided into Balaklava Centrals and Balaklava Rovers that year. Balaklava reformed in 1933 and continued in Wakefield and then transferred to Adelaide Plains Football League in 1940. Balaklava have remained an active member of Adelaide Plains since that time.
