belonging to veerashiva pantha called Sri Rambhapuri Matha, one of the oldest temples in Karnataka. The main crop in this and surrounding areas is coffee. It is a major junction for routes to Chikkamagaluru, Kudremukha, Sringeri-Koppa and Shivamogga.

Balehonnur Bridge

JCI Balehonnur Classic

In the year 2002 youths of Balehonnur started a new Jaycee chapter under the leadership of Jc. Syed Fazil Hussain, known as Balehonnur Junior Chamber. After some time it was renamed as Classic Junior Chamber. In 2006 our chapter assumed a new name, Junior Chamber International Balehonnur Classic, in short JCI Balehonnur Classic. JCI Balehonnur Classic organised special programmes, in both individual development & social service. The chapter continues to perform in the same line, every year. It has hosted events like Mungaru (Regional Conference) Milana-08 (Zone conference).
