Balkan Bulgarian Airlines Flight LZ307 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Sofia to Moscow, that crashed on its final approach to Sheremetyevo Airport on 03 March 1973, killing all 25 passengers and crew on board.

as LZ-BEM, which first flew in 1962.
The aircraft crashed while on final approach only a few kilometers short of the runway. Significant icing on the tailplane caused an eventual loss of movement capability and subsequently, a loss of pitch control by the crew.
Around 12:45 p.m. the Ilyushin suddenly descended below the glidepath and struck the ground.
