Bambusa balcooa or the Balcooa Bamboo is a clumping bamboo
of Indian origin. It is popular with the Vietnamese
as food, and can be used as a short life timber for temporary constructions. Although a species of copious growth, it cannot get out of control as running types when not tended. It can grow up to a height of 25 m, and a thickness of 15 cm.
