The Pink MRT
line is a planned elevated mass rapid transit line to be built in Bangkok
, Thailand
.
The will be some 35 km long and will run from east Bangkok
to west Bangkok
(Pak Kret district
, Nonthaburi Province
) in the northern part of the city.
It will run from Minburi Bangkok
(also transfers to MRT Orange Line) along Ram Inthra Road.
Chaeng Watthana Road and Tiwanon Road ending at The Nonthaburi Government Center which transfer to the MRT Purple Line.The line will also transfer with SRT Dark Red Line, BTS Sukhumvit Line, and MRT Grey Line
in the future.
The rail system was originally intended to be a duo-track monorail, but studies are now underway to convert the proposed line into heavy rail. While these plans are underway, construction for the Pink line is expected to be delayed by several months.

Progress
Currently an environmental impact assessment for the MRT Pink Line is expected to go to the cabinet late this year. Also the director-general of the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning has said in an interview that the pink line was considered a priority scheme, as it ran past the government complex.The rail system was originally intended to be a duo-track monorail, but studies are now underway to convert the proposed line into heavy rail.
