Barbara Boyd is a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives

Boyd won reelection in 2008 against Republican Charles Drake with 87.55% of the vote. In the 128th General Assembly, Boyd served as Sergeant in Arms of the Legislative Black Caucus, and as Chairman of the House Health Committee.
In 2010, Boyd was elected to a third term against Republican Charles Perkel with 86.14% of the vote, and was sworn in on January 3, 2011. She is serving on the Veterans Affairs Committee. She also sits on the Joint Legislative Committee on Health Care Oversight; and the Dentist Loan Repayment
Advisory Board.

In 2006, she opted to run again for her old seat, and faced two other candidates in the primary election. One of the candidates was Julian Rogers, a young entrepreneur who had outspent Boyd 3:1. In the end, she won the primary election with 65.19% of the vote.
