The latest demand is for Iron Ore Fines which are being exported to China. Steel is manufactured and liquid oxygen is also produced here. In this area a large number of industries have grown up. It remains to seen how the new government directive increasing the cost of export of raw iron ore affects the economy of Barbil town.
