He moved to Keighley Cougars
as player-coach. He retired from playing and was given full control of the club by Peter Roe in 2007, although he continued to make sporadic on-field appearances during that season. After leading the Cougars to promotion, he was unable to keep them in the Co-operative Championship and subsequently moved to Crusaders to become assistant to Iestyn Harris
in 2011.
