The Bascol Group, at present embraces companies within the sectors of Construction, Property Development and Asset Management.
With headquarters in Coimbra, Bascol has also offices in Porto and Lisboa. and opened last year offices in Luanda, Angola and Curitiba, Brasil.
With a history dating from 1982, Bascol-Construção Civil was formed by the current President of its Council of Administration, the engineer, António Bastos.
The year 2000 marked the beginning of a strategy of geographic expansion, with the acquisition of the engineering and construction company, SOFOZ, based in Porto.
Dedicated principally to remodeling and renovation, as well as a number of original projects, this new company of the Bascol Group has brought valuable benefits in the area of interiors, with the introduction of novel and innovative materials.
In this same year, following a strategy of specialization within the core business, was created Bascol - Promoção Imobiliária, dedicated exclusively to the development of the Group’s projects, which to date include three major developments in Leiria and Coimbra.
In 2002, to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of its founding, Bascol inaugurated its new, self-built headquarters building in Coimbra.
With the creation of Bascol - Promoção Imobiliária, the business of development has gained greater importance within the Group. In recent years, this area has come to the forefront, bringing nationwide recognition to the Bascol name. In Coimbra it is the market leader, and in Porto it has a growing and significant portfolio, encompassing large scale developments, as well as a number of its own projects directed at niche markets.
In the construction sector, with a view to maintaining levels of competitively, was initiated in 2004, a process of certification in the Areas of Quality and Safety, under the norms NPEN ISO 9001 : 2000 OHSAS 18001/NP 4397, being granted the accreditation APCER on 5/09/2005.
At the end of 2004, was completed the acquisition of the installations in Porto, having, the following year affected the alteration of the SOFOZ name to Bascol, thus capitalizing on an image of quality and competence.
Resulting from its accelerated growth and policy of geographic expansion, the Group increased the assets of the Holding in 2006, from 1,000,000 to 5,000,000 euros.
At the beginning of the year 2008, Bascol opened offices in Lisboa, thus assuring a more consistent presence in the south of the country, and a sustained expansion in its activities.
In parallel, was formed Bascol Angola and Bascol Brasil, beginning the process of internationalization of the Group in the area of property development.
