Early life

Bashir Badr was born in Kanpur, India. His full name is Syed Mohammad Bashir.

During his Masters progarm he was made to study one of his own book.

Career

Bashir Badr has over 18,000 couplets to his name and many Urdu ghazals.

He has also been named the chairman of the Urdu Akademi, and is the most commonly sung and recited Urdu poet.

Personal life

Bashir Badr is married and has two sons and a daughter. One of his sons Nusrat Badr is a Bollywood writer. He lives in Bhopal.
He is an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University. His disciple and famous poet Muslim Saleem, who got educated in Aligarh under Bashir Badr, also lives in Bhopal.
