. The battle was a reaction to the Soviet defeat at the First Battle of Târgu Frumos
. It consisted mainly of a tank battle near Scobalteni where the First Romanian Panzerdivision held off the Soviet tanks for a single day. At the end of the battle, the Germans managed to drive the Soviets back to the positions they held before the battle.
