"Be Mine" is a song by Wild Orchid
, released as their first single from their second album, Oxygen. After scoring modest pop success with singles like "Talk to Me
" and "At Night I Pray
", the single was released and was heavily promoted by RCA records which hoped that Wild Orchid would finally score a top 10 hit. Initially, promotion by MTV was steady (it reached #8 in the TRL) and the single garnered sufficient airplay. Nonetheless, the sales of the single were way lower than expected. Thus, backed only by its airplay, the single became the group's first single to miss the Hot 100, narrowly missing the top 100, peaking at #103. The failure of the single led to the subsequent ill performance of the album that it was originating from.
