Bear Country was one of the lands at the Disneyland Resort in California.
on the former Indian Village site. It was created specifically for the Country Bear Jamboree
, which opened March 4, 1972. It lasted until 1988, when the land was retitled Critter Country
in order to incorporate the many other animals in the Splash Mountain
attraction.
Bear Country featured 265 trees, including redwoods, pines, birches, and evergreens, used to re-create the Great Northwest. Its slogan was "A Honey of a Place." The entire project cost $8 million.
