cup which regional sides competed for, with the matches taking place over three days.
The following season the competition was renamed the Texaco Cup. The format from the previous season remained with a semi final and final taking place. For the 1975/76 tournament this was replaced with a round robin format.
In 1976/77 the cup reverted back to its original name and the four teams that had competed previously merged. South and Central Trinidad became the one team as did North and East Trinidad. The Texaco Cup however continued, running parallel from 1976/77 until 1978/79.

History
It was contested annually from the 1958/59 West Indian summer until 1970/71, and sporadically from then until 1984/85. North and South Trinidad played each other for the cup originally and the 1970/71 contest was the first between more than two sides, with East and Central Trinidad joining in. This meant that two semi finals took place to decide who would play in the cup match. The following season the competition was renamed the Texaco Cup.
