Season One
Episode | # | Summary |
---|---|---|
'Being In Love' | 1 | The first episode of Being Eve, where we are introduced to a 15-year-old girl name Eve Baxter, (Though she tells the story of her life through voiceover) She attends Eden Heights High School along with her two best friends, Matt, who dreams of becoming a dancer one day and Sylvie, who is only interested in boys and is supposedly in 'love' with Jared Preston, though Eve finds something quite disturbing about him. We are also introduced to Eve's family. Her parents are divorced but live next door to each other: Eve lives with her mother and younger brother Caleb; her older brother Ned ('King of the Couch Potatoes') lives with their father and his new girlfriend Alannah. Eve's mother is a caterer and her father is a plumber. Eve dreams of her perfect match, late at night. Though when it comes to presenting speeches on Modern Romances, Eve shows her doubts on love but it all changes when a new boy named Adam Le Beau enters her class. |
'Being Popular' | 2 | Most of the students from Eden Heights High School, including Sylvie, Matt, and new boy Adam, are invited to Charlotte's party--Eve is among the non-invited, so-called 'geeks.' We are introduced to Charlotte, a beautiful blonde girl who spends most of the time gossiping with her 2 best friends, Melanie and Melissa, about certain students, especially Eve. Crestfallen at not being invited to the party, Eve seeks advice from her kind elderly neighbor. She tries going to a movie on her own, but finds out she has a better time talking with her mother. Matt is displeased that Charlotte didn't invite Eve and asks her to call and invite her. Eve politely declines, so Matt sabotages the party: everybody flees because someone had 'crapped' in the pool (Matt had actually thrown a sausage into it). Matt, Sylvie, and Adam go to Eve's and the 4 have a good laugh about Charlotte's disastrous party. |
'Being Beautiful' | 3 | Seeing Charlotte always being noticed by Adam, Eve hopes to gain some attention from him as well. When arriving to school the next day, Alannah comes around to see if she is interested in coming shopping with her, which Eve agrees to so she can dress up nicely to make Adam notice her, meanwhile Sylvie's parents, who practise Yoga almost everyday are concern about the amounts of food Sylvie is consuming but Sylvie says that she is fine as she is. Eve returns to school, dressing quite provocatively and Adam quickly glances at her, though he looks quite annoyed. Eve returns home to dress back into her school uniform and her art project, which she accidentally drops to the floor when she has a sudden thought of what Adam said about his project causing her to run home, humiliated. Sylvie returns home as well after fainting in art class when Eve ran away and stands up to her parents on her appearance. Eve cheers up when her mother has a talk with her. All becomes well in the end. |
'Being Bad' | 4 | Eve is tired of always being the 'good girl' so she skips her study class and sneaks out of the school along with Matt, while Sylvie remains behind, covering their trail, one of the boys in their class has taken an immediate interest in her. Eve and Matt hang out near a bus stop but are spotted by a bus driver, who tends to report them but they quickly escape. The pair see a group of people protesting in keeping a tree that construction workers were meant to put down, but the group refuse to let it happen. Eve joins in the protest, and speaks on behalf of the group of people, much their delight but they are caught by the police. Eve gets a lecture from her parents and is being aired on TV, handcuffed to a tree. Though she is not punished. The next day, her English teacher and Adam show their impression on her protest speech. Eve realizes that she cannot be the 'bad' girl but just being the girl she always has been and whom everyone knows. |
'Being Kissed' | 5 | All of the students are being warned by their robotic principal of being deeply intimate with one another at the Social dance later in the evening. Eve has the sudden urge to kiss Adam, though she confesses to the viewers that she has only kissed three boys. Eve, Sylvie and Matt all plan to go together till Sylvie invites Adam to come along with them as well. Late at night, Eve's mother's friend has arranged a date for her (Eve's mother), though Eve feels unsure of her moving on so quickly. Matt shows up at Eve's place, though Eve is disappointed not to see Adam with him. The three all show up at the Social dance, though when Eve is about to leave she bumps into Adam, who explains to her that something had come up at home which had caused him in being late to meet up with Matt. Eve finally shares her first passionate kiss with him, though he tells her that he wasn't expecting it causing her to become much disappointed. The next day she tells Sylvie that she really likes Adam. |
'Being Betrayed' | 6 | Adam invites Sylvie to see a movie with him, much to her delight though it turns into disappointment when he tells her to bring Eve and Matt with them. Sylvie has come to have a crush on Adam as well. Adam questions her about Eve's closeness with Matt and she tells him that that they are really close with each other, possibly making Adam to believe that Eve and Matt were dating. Afterschool, Sylvie almost not mentions about seeing the movie with Adam to Eve but feels a bit guilty and mentions it to her anyway, though Eve tells her that she has plans elsewhere though she is surprised that she is going alone with Adam but tends to tell herself that she can trust her best friend. But late at night she questions herself on trust. At the movies, Adam and Sylvie are enjoying a light, friendly conversation but are unaware that Matt is watching them. At the end of the movie session, they are surprised to see him there and Matt has a chat with Sylvie about Eve's obvious likeness to Adam. Eve does see the two (Adam and Sylvie) drive off on his scooter, though they were unaware that she was there, as she was standing with a group of people wearing masks. When arriving to school, Eve realizes that the two were becoming a couple and is saddened by the thought causing Matt to confront Adam that he was oblivious to her feelings for him. Adam has a talk with Eve about her and Matt but she tells him that she only likes him (Adam) as a 'friend'. She is deeply unhappy of the fact that her best friend was dating the boy she had grown to like. |
Being Scared | 7 | Eve is plagued by nightmares where she is forced to choose between Adam and Sylvie. Later, Eve attends camp with her schoolmates on a trip that is chaparoned by her mother and her teacher Mr. Inglewood. Eve, Adam, and Sylvie get lost when Sylvie becomes paranoid about Eve and Adam's relationship and runs off into the forest and they pursue her. Back at home, Alannah forces Ned to get a job after their TV dies. |
Being Just Mates | 8 | Adam's mother has had an accident due to her alcoholism and Eve's family invites him to stay at her house whilst she recovers. Having your crush in the house isn't exactly easy. She ponders if people of the opposite sex really can be JUST friends. Her friendship with Matt is also tested when they discover they might be closer than they think they are. Meanwhile, Sylvie tries to improve her relationship with Adam but everything she does seems to fail...or does Adam just not like her as a girlfriend? |
Being Different | 9 | Eve and Matt have a difficult time communicating in the aftermath of their kissing. Eve also has trouble reconciling her feelings towards Adam. Matt endures bullying from Jared while preparing for a dance audition. Sylvie seeks revenge on Charlotte for egging her on with Adam by using Eve's doll as a voodoo doll, seemingly causing several maladies to befall Charlotte. |
Being a Couple | 10 | Eve has trouble dealing with her feelings of being in a committed relationship with Matt, as well as her uneasiness of dating someone of Māorian descent. Their relationship is further strained when Eve's brother Caleb's Māorian friend is chosen to be in Matt's music video, while Caleb is excluded. Sylvie fends off the advances of a new Indian student that falls in love with her after she helps hide him from being picked on by Jared. |
Being Dead | 11 | The school must cope with the sudden passing of a classmate, Philippa. Eve is afraid to attend the funeral because she doesn't know how she will react. Sylvie believes she is cursed because she forgot to return Philippa's pen, so she holds a séance to seek Philippa's absolution. Adam gives Caleb a pet rabbit, and then spends the rest of his time trying to rescue it from harm, due to Caleb's propensity of accidentally killing his pets. |
Being Pregnant | 12 | Alannah's driving desire to get pregnant puts a stress on both Baxter households. After numerous failed attempts at getting pregnant, Tim and Alannah instead decide to get married, thus ruining Eve's hopes of her parents getting back together. The intenseness of Matt's romantic emotions, plus the stress of the impending marriage, drives Eve into the arms of Adam. Pravesh and Sylvie have a disastrous date when he becomes nauseated after eating pizza. |

Adam accompanies Eve to the wedding, as Matt is busy with dance rehearsals. Matt shows up at the wedding after his rehearsal is cancelled, and Matt and Adam both realize that Eve has been lying to both of them. They both decide to remain friends, but they now have negative emotions towards Eve. At the wedding's first dance, Matt begins dancing with Sylvie, and Adam reluctantly joins Eve, unsure of his feelings or their future. |
