. It was built in 1885 in Bir Hassan, a suburb of Beirut. It was moved in 1918 to a location on Abdallah Al Yafi Avenue adjacent to Horsh Beirut
.
In addition to national and international horse races, the Hippodrome also hosts The Garden Show every spring that welcomes more than 160 exhibitors and over 24,000 visitors from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Cyprus and other European countries.
