however, Belmont station has parking vendors.
An underpass, conceived as early as 1996, gained state funding in June 2008 and will be completed by June 2013. Belmont road will be re-routed underneath the tracks and a new station will be built. This at-grade crossing was singled out because it has been the site of many accidents. Demolition began in late 2008. The project will be funded by Metra, BNSF, DuPage County, and the State of Illinois.
