In the village the population was spread out with 23.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 29.1% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older. Due to former Governor Blagojevich's budget cuts, Bryant Cottage was scheduled to close, even though it is an important landmark in the political career of one of our nation's greatest Presidents, Abraham Lincoln. But, because of local efforts, Bryant Cottage will remain open to the public.
