. In 2007 he decided to quit rugby to start a business. But,then in April 2010 it was announced that he would rejoin the Auckland Rugby Union and the Auckland Blues. Atiga was called into the Highlanders  in the 2011 Super 15 following numerous injuries in the squad. He started from the bench against Hurricanes  in his return to top tier rugby.
