), some of Stingray's more individual expressions such as "hufter" and "Belgium" (as an expression of dismay or irritation) were coined by Ben himself (Although the use of 'Belgium' as a curse word was pioneered by Douglas Adams in 'The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy'). It was rumoured that Ben had planned on leaving Neighbours for some time to further his career in movies. His final performance as 'Stingray' aired on 23 March 2007. Nicholas travelled from Australia to the UK to perform pantomime over the Christmas period. In December 2006, he performed at the Marlowe Theatre, in Canterbury, Kent, as Prince Charming. He performed in Cinderella in the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage from 1 December 2007 until 27 January 2008. He is also involved with The Rayz, a London based band .

Nicholas toured during September–October 2007 with the band 'Lucas', playing over 40 dates.

Ben has appeared in the stage version of the hit Disney film High School Musical in London. He played the part of Jack Scott. The shows ran from Saturday 28 June 2008 until Sunday 31 August 2008 in the Hammersmith Apollo London.

Ben appeared in Jack and the Beanstalk panto playing Jack, in the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage from Saturday 29 November 2008 until Sunday 25 January 2009.

He is currently starring as Pepper in the Australian Tour of Mamma Mia!
