Benjamin Ryan is a keyboard player and multi instrumentalist from Sudbury
, in Suffolk
, England.
His earliest collaborations were with his guitar playing older brother Paul Ryan, with whom he went on to form Cradle of Filth
, along with their school friend Daniel Davey (a.k.a. Dani Filth).
After recording several demos, and a false start with their ‘lost album’ entitled The Goetia, Cradle of Filth attained some success in the 1990s metal scene. Eventually the band signed to Cacophonous Records whilst Benjamin was still only 16 years old, and released The Principle of Evil Made Flesh

After the recording of The Principle of Evil Made Flesh both the Ryan brothers and band mate Paul Allender left Cradle of Filth and formed cult metal band The Blood Divine
.
The Blood Divine recorded two studio albums and toured extensively for three years, building a following during the time they were together until 1998 when the band split.
Benjamin went on to work as a session musician and sound engineer during which time he worked briefly in Yorkshire with guitarist Rishi Mehta.
In 2001 Benjamin spent a period as a freelance web developer, but has since returned to working as a musician and sound engineer.
