Pre-Political Career

Prior to her appointment as Secretary of State, Bayless was a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors where she served two terms as board chair. Bayless also served as Director of the state Department of Administration, as Acting Director of the state Department of Revenue and as Assistant Director of the Arizona Board of Regents

Post-Political Career

Since September 2005, Bayless has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Maricopa Integrated Health System, an independent health care district approved by voters in 2003 and governed by a five-member Board of Directors. The cornerstone of the system is Maricopa Medical Center, a 450-bed major teaching hospital.
