This trophy is not to be confused with;

cups aim to raise awareness of depression, anxiety and related drug and alcohol problems within their respective communities.

Traditionally the Cup was to be presented to the winner of the sides first meeting for the season. However in 2009, the Cup was awarded in the clubs second meeting as their round one clash was a Grand Final rematch of the year before.
Aside from the first meeting, the clashes have been quite close. Two games have been decided by under a goal, with Jimmy Bartel kicking a behind after the siren to win by a single point in 2009.
